APGA Public Natural Gas System Membership
You are eligible for APGA Public Natural Gas System Membership if your organization provides natural gas distribution services and if your natural gas distribution system is publicly- or community-owned. View system membership benefits at www.apga.org/aboutus/memberbenefits
Dues invoices are sent out in September and cover the following calendar year. 2025 Membership dues are:
- Public gas systems with 1 to 500 meters:
- Dues are set at the minimum rate of $445
- Small systems are automatically considered members
- Small systems may pay any amount or nothing
- Small systems are dropped as amember upon request
- Public gas systems with 501 to 60,000 meters:
- Dues are calculated at 89¢ per meter
- Dues range from $445.89 to $53,400
- Public gas systems with 60,001 to 200,000 meters:
- Public gas systems with 200,001 or more meters:
Associate Membership
You are eligible for an
Associate Membership if your organization provides products and/or services for publicly owned natural gas distribution systems. 2025 Dues are a flat rate of $975. Joint Action Agency (JAA) Member
Dues for Joint Action Agency members are $7,500. Dues for Limited Joint Action Agency members (not eligible for Board of Director seats or committee leadership) are $975. if a Limited JAA collects APGA dues on behalf of its members, the JAA pays no dues. If it does not collect dues, it can become an APGA member if it pays dues at the Associate Member rate of $975. Discount Dues for Joint Action Agency Members
If a Joint Action Agency collects and remits the dues for their system members, the system members with fewer than 60,000 meters will receive a 5% discount on their dues.
Limited Member
Limited membership is for investor or privately-owned natural gas distribution systems serving less than 25,000 customers. APGA Limited Membership provides an opportunity for small local distribution companies to cross share on operations and safety issues with operators of similar size and structure. The dues rate for limited members is calculated at 0.712 cents per meter. State/Regional Association Member
You are eligible to be listed as a State/Regional Association Members in our directory if your organization is a regional or state association of publicly-owned natural gas utilities. State/Regional Association members pay no dues.
Prorating of Dues
New public gas system members with 500-60,000 customers who join during the year may have its initial dues prorated on the following schedule (Membership Effective Date of Prorated Level):
- January 1 – March 31 89¢ per meter
- April 1 – June 30 66.75¢ per meter (75%)
- July 1 – September 30 44.5¢ per meter (50%)
- October 1 – December 31 (Next Year's APGA Dues Rate)
JAA and Associate members may have their dues prorated similarly.
Complimentary Trial Membership
The Membership Committee may recommend, and the President may approve, a trial membership of up to three months to afford a potential member the opportunity to receive Public Gas News, have access to the website, and other APGA services.
