APGA Public Gas Policy Council

APGA's Public Gas Policy Council (PGPC) is composed of elected and appointed officials, including mayors, utility board members, and city council members, from public gas communities.

What Does the PGPC Do?

Local officials bring an influential voice to national policy discussions and ensure that the benefits of public gas systems are clearly communicated with their elected federal representatives. Members of the PGPC play a vital role in:

  • Advocating for legislation that supports public gas systems and their communities
  • Opposing policies that may negatively impact public energy interests
  • Providing strategic guidance on legislative matters affecting the industry

Who Can Join The PGPC?

APGA welcomes nominations for the PGPC and is now open until December 1! Participation in the PGPC offers a unique opportunity for local officials to engage directly in shaping energy policy and advancing the interests of publicly- and community-owned natural gas systems.

In order to be eligible for the PGPC, an individual should be a member of the governing board of a utility that is a member of APGA, or should be an elected or appointed official, such as a mayor or member of city council, from the utility’s service territory.
